Cutting and material processing
Mobile power for cutting machines used in processing metal profiles, structural components, and interior construction materials.

Industry: Construction / Commercial Interior Fit-Out
Project: Nanjing Maternity & Child Health Hospital
Applications: Interior Construction / Power Tools / On-Site Welding
Equipment Used: SOFIMO PS Series & ES Series Industrial Portable Power Stations
Power Solution: Distributed Mobile Power + Centralized Charging Management
The interior fit-out project at Nanjing Maternity & Child Health Hospital involved cutting, grinding, drilling, welding, air compressors, and various power tools. As construction progressed across different floors, rooms, and work areas, power requirements changed continuously with each crew and task.
Conventional temporary power relied on secondary distribution panels and overhead temporary cabling to supply electricity across the building.
To improve flexibility, the project deployed dozens of SOFIMO industrial portable power stations, including the PS-4800T, PS-5800T, and selected ES Series models. Different units were assigned to work areas based on tool power requirements, battery capacity, and operating duration.
A centralized charging room was also established to manage battery charging, equipment allocation, and daily rotation across construction teams.
Power That Moves with Every Construction Crew
Dozens of portable power stations were distributed across different floors, rooms, and work areas, providing power wherever construction activities were taking place.
Mobile power for cutting machines used in processing metal profiles, structural components, and interior construction materials.

Portable power for wall sanders, dust extractors, and other surface preparation equipment during interior finishing work.

Flexible power for rotary hammers, electric drills, and installation tools, supporting frequent relocation between rooms and work areas.

Portable power stations matched to compressor power requirements, supporting mobile air compressors and pneumatic equipment.

Depending on welding requirements, crews could use PS Series power stations paired with LW low-voltage DC welders, or ES Series integrated welding power stations for metal installation, bracket fabrication, and localized welding.

Multiple SOFIMO models were deployed to match different construction requirements. As one of the primary models used on-site, the PS-4800T features:
2662Wh LiFePO₄ Battery | 3500W Rated Output | 10500W Peak Output (2s)
Runtime per Charge
Cutting, grinding, and drilling tools are typically operated intermittently, allowing one power station to support multiple tasks throughout the day.

Under typical intermittent operating conditions, a single PS-4800T can support a construction crew’s mobile power needs throughout a working day, moving between different tasks and work areas.
Note: Figures are reference performance data for the PS-4800T under specified test conditions. Actual runtime varies depending on tool power consumption, load, operating cycles, and jobsite conditions.
Interior construction frequently requires on-site welding for metal structures, support brackets, and localized installation adjustments.
The PS-4800T can be paired with the LW-170 48V low-voltage DC welder to create a mobile welding setup. Both units can be moved directly to the welding location, reducing the need for long power cables from fixed distribution points.

Note: Reference welding performance for the PS-4800T + LW-170 combination. Actual electrode consumption per charge depends on welding current, electrode type, operating technique, and jobsite conditions.
When dozens of portable power stations operate simultaneously, efficient charging and equipment rotation become essential to maintaining construction productivity.
For this project, a dedicated centralized charging area was established to manage multiple SOFIMO models.

Construction crews collected suitable power stations based on their daily tasks, tool loads, and runtime requirements. The units were then deployed across different floors and work areas. After use, they were returned to the designated charging area, ready for the next shift or construction cycle.
Centralized Charging → On-Demand Allocation → Distributed Operation → Return & Recharge
This approach enabled more organized equipment allocation and charging management across multiple crews. Centralized charging arrangements can be configured according to fleet size, equipment models, available electrical capacity, crew requirements, and shift schedules.

Suitable for construction tasks requiring greater power output, battery capacity, and longer operating duration.
Combines battery storage, AC power output, and welding capabilities in one unit for construction tasks requiring both welding and power tool operation.
Different PS and ES Series models were assigned according to tool power, runtime, welding requirements, and crew needs, ensuring each task received a suitable power solution.
Portable power stations were deployed directly at work areas, reducing the need for overhead temporary wiring, long cable runs, and repeated electrical connections.
Dozens of power stations supported construction activities across multiple floors and rooms, enabling crews to carry out cutting, grinding, drilling, air compressor operation, and welding at different locations.
A dedicated charging area enabled organized equipment management through a simple workflow:
Centralized Charging → On-Demand Allocation → Distributed Operation → Return & Recharge
This system helped keep multiple power stations available for deployment as construction progressed.
